Put your ideas on paper

Use a separate journal to write down your personal goals as they relate to rap. Studies show that people who take the time to write their goals on paper have a higher probability of achieving them than those who just keep their goals in their minds.

Write every day

Write lyrics in your rap journal on a daily basis, even in you have writer's block. The important thing is to be consistent. If you do something for 21 consecutive days, then it becomes a natural habit. Writing rap lyrics on a daily basis should become a natural habit for you.

Study the lyrics of others

Pick some of your favorite rap artists and take some time to study their song lyrics. Studying other people's lyrics helps to get the creative juices going. Eventually, you will understand the formula for writing great rap songs.

Create a 4 step structure

In every rap song there is a basic 4 step structure. Even the most chaotic rap song has this structure. You need to abide by this structure so that your rap song has the right flow to it. The 4 steps of the structure are, intro, verse, hook, and outro.

Add your own character

Add your own personality to make a rap song stand out from the songs of other artists. The best way to accomplish this is by writing a song about a unique experience you perhaps had. Don't be shy about writing about personal experiences. Adding your own style to an otherwise generic structure will make your song unique and memorable.
