How To Learn To Play Guitar For Newbies

By Yukata Makinoa

When you learn to play guitar for newbies, it can be a wonderful thing to do for many reasons, whether they are creative or practical. For some, it is a needed skill to pursue a certain area or to learn a specific thing, for others, it is a way to broaden their horizons, creative or otherwise. An acoustic six-string guitar is best for this, and a pick can be used for strumming, although this is not necessary.

This is really all that you need to start with, as well as a lot of patience, although that is needed when you are embarking on any skill. If you have a love for music, then you might find it much easier to have said patience, here.

When you are learning to play the guitar, there are some basic things that are important for you to know. The arrangement of the strings is one of the primary things for you to learn.

There are six of them and they are arranged on the fret board in order of thickness, and each string represents a different note. The thickest string is the lowest, at an E, then in order, it is A, D, G, B and a second E as the highest, thinnest string. It is important to remember these and how your fingers will rest on them.

When you play your guitar, your dominant hand is the one that manipulates the strings along the fret board. Depending on where you hold strings down or pluck them along the length of the neck, this will affect the tone of the note. It is most likely a good idea to practice holding the guitar and remembering which strings you are picking so you are less likely to make mistakes in the future.

The notes are played by pressing down on the strings in order to play the right notes. As well as being able to play the notes themselves, it might take some practice to be able to move between notes with ease. When you are practicing, take care between lessons to really make sure that you have mastered that lesson as it will make future lessons easier.
