Short Overviews Of Some Feature Films

Take a look at some movie reviews we have prepared. If you want to locate a movie download site do a search online. There are a lot of different phrases you can use, try "DVD Movies", "DVD Rentals", or "Download Video".

Stairway to Heaven: Powell and Pressburger manage to straddle actuality and fantasy in a most disarming approach in this irregular tale of a guide in WW2 who claims he was unintentionally selected to die, and should now plead for his life in a Heavenly court. Cast includes David Niven, Kim Hunter, Raymond Massey, Roger Livesey, Robert Coote, Marius Goring, and Richard Attenborough. (104 minutes, 1946)

Hold That Ghost: Prime Abott and Costello, with the boys inheriting a haunted house. This fine cast contains humorous Davis as virtuoso radio screamer. A highlight is the moving candle. Cast includes Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Richard Carlson, Joan Davis, Mischa Auer, Evelyn Ankers, Marc Lawrence, Shemp Howard, Ted Lewis, and The Andrews Sisters. (86 minutes, 1941)

Little Vegas: Discreet comedy about some unconventional characters in a trailer park in a barren region that Mafia developers desire to turn into a smaller version of Vegas. Cast includes Anthony John Denison, Catherine O'Hara, Jerry Stiller, Michael Nouri, Perry Lang, and Bruce McGill. (91 minutes, 1990)

Alias Jesse James: One of Hope's funniest films has him as an insurance sales associate out West, not the right job for a gunslinger. Fleming is a pleasant Western belle, and the 2 do a cute melody together. Cast includes Bob Hope, Rhonda Fleming, Wendell Corey, Jim Davis, and Gloria Talbott. (92 minutes, 1959)

Dangerous When Wet: A cute musical comedy, one of Esther's best, in regards to a well to do family whose leading light tries to swim the English Channel. Williams cavorts underwater with the energized Tom and Jerry in one memorable scene. She later wedded leading-guy Lamas in real life. Cast includes Esther Williams, Fernando Lamas, Jack Carson, Charlotte Greenwood, Denise Darcel, William Demarest, Donna Corcoran, and Barbara Whiting. (95 minutes, 1953)

The Faculty: Ohio high school students who typically don't get along with each other band together as they discover that their professors are being taken over by alien beings. Cast includes Elijah Wood, Salma Hayek, Piper Laurie, Famke Janssen, Chris McDonald, Robert Patrick, Bebe Neuwirth, Clea DuVall, Laura Harris, Shawn Hatosy, Guide Raymond, Jon Stewart, and Daniel von Bargen. (104 minutes, 1998)

The Front Page: The third filming of the Hecht-MacArthur play about a crazy and woolly Chicago newspaperman in the 1920s has barely anything new to offer (with the exception of 4-letter words) although it continues to be an entertaining piece of work. Cast includes Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Carol Burnett, Susan Sarandon, Vincent Gardenia, David Wayne, Allen Garfield, Austin Pendleton, and Charles Dunning. (105 minutes, 1974)

Macabre: Strange goings on in small town where physician's youthful daughter mysteriously disappears and a nameless telephone hailer declares that the kid has been buried alive. Cast includes William Prince, Jim Backus, Christine White, and Jacqueline Scott. (73 minutes, 1958)

The Sugarland Express: An amusing tale, based on truth, in regards to a youthful couple escaping to Sugarland, Texas, to recover their child (whom they want back after giving the child up for adoption), and the cops who chase them all the way through Texas. Cast includes Goldie Hawn, Ben Johnson, Michael Sacks, William Atherton, Steve Kanaly, and Louise Latham. (109 minutes, 1974)

Did you know you can find tons of movies online that you can download? Internet searches like "How To Download Movies" and "Full Movie Download" will help you find film download sites. If neither of those work use "Online DVD Rental Service".
