Sawdust and Tinsel - Kindles soar in this gorgeous, metaphorical motion picture set in a small-time carnival and concentrating on the relation between carnival owner Gronberg and his oversexed mistress (Andersson). Cast includes Harriet Andersson, Ake Gronberg, Anders Ek, Gudrun Brost, Hasse Ekman, and Annika Tretow.

The Leading Man - British backstage show romance in regards to an American film superstar who seduces a playwright's unhappy spouse and his leading-woman mistress. When it might not make up its mind whether it's a comedy tirade or a light thriller, it is still very humorous stuff. Bon Jovi is excellent as the impetuous, amoral Yankee, and Galiena and Newton are enticing as the females snared in his web. Cast includes Jon Bon Jovi, Anna Galiena, Lambert Wilson, Thandie Newton, Barry Humphries, and David Warner.

The Sea Hawk - Top of the line combination with Flynn at his streaking best in venture on the high oceans. The movie has a vital balance of piracy, romance, and swordplay, handsomely shot, and orchestrated with exciting Erich Wolfgang Komgold score. Cast includes Errol Flynn, Brenda Marshall, Claude Pours, Donald Crisp, Flora Robson, Alan Hale, Henry Daniell, Una O'Connor, Gilbert Roland, and Edgar Buchanan.

The Meteor Man - Townsend plays a tentative, nerdy school teacher with a terror of heights who gets hit by an strange bright green meteor that turns him into a superhero. Excellent "Superman in the Hood" tale, full of good values, but very few actually humorous minutes. Cast includes Robert Townsend, Marla Gibbs, Eddie Griffin, Robert Guillaume, James Earl Jones, Roy Fegan, and Bill Cosby.

The Horse Whisperer - After her daughter is gravely hurt in a horse riding accident, her prosperous mother takes the horse to a renowned horse whisperer in Montana. A romance between the two follows.

Rhapsody in Blue - Hollywood biography of George Gershwin is largely fiction, although comes off better than most other composer biographies, seizing Gershwin's enthusiasm for his work, and some of his central conflicts. Cast includes Robert Aida, Joan Leslie, Alexis Smith, Oscar Levant, Charles Coburn, Hazel Scott, and Al Jolson.

Vertical Limit - Peter Garett, an ex mountain climber who gave the sport up after his father died unfortunately while climbing, finds himself in a demanding state of affairs. His sister and climbing partner have been trapped in a deep ravine while trying to climb the famous K2 peak. He is one of the few people capable of even trying a near impossible rescue. Time is of the essence, as the trapped climbers will soon freeze to death.

The Choirboys - Purportedly joke adventures of LA. Cops who improve work pressures by raunchy doings. This is a Crude, foul-minded, heavy handed movie from book by Joseph Wambaugh, who disavowed this turkey. Cast includes Charles Durning, Louis Gossett, Jr., Perry Baron, Clyde Kusatsu, Stephen Macht, Tim McIntire, Randy Quaid, Don Stroud, and James Woods.

Alias Jesse James - One of Hope's funniest has him an insurance salesman out West, mistaken for a sharpshooter. Fleming is a lovely Western belle, and the 2 do a cute melody together. Cast includes Bob Wish, Rhonda Fleming, Wendell Corey, Jim Davis, and Gloria Talbott.

Marie Antoinette - Story on life of famed 18th-century French monarch has remarkable Morgan in title role although requires point of view and scope. Cast includes Michele Morgan, Richard Todd, and Jean Morel.
