Very Great Headphones - Rf Wireless Headphones Review

By Alexander Cox

If they're in a completely different room with a closed door, you might be able to. I haven't heard any complaints about that, but lifting them off my head, I can tell they're definitely broadcasting the music outwards quite a bit. The headphones are light weight and comfortable to wear for extend periods. They are over the ear and so they don't press down on your ears. I do periodically get a brief "hiccup" in the sound when I'm in the remote areas of the house, when I'm outside grilling on the patio, and when I walk into the garage. None of those distances exceed 150 feet, so I do question whether these headphones truly have a 320-foot line-of-sight range that Sennheiser advertises. They are on the expensive side, but I'm pleased with them. I'd recommend them for anyone looking for wireless headphones in this price range.

However, there are a few things that really frustrate me about these cans. The much mentioned volume buttons that are too small are just one. They are open air design like the 180's and have very excellent sound quality. That is what made me decided to go with Sennheiser when I was looking for wireless headphones. The biggest plus for the Sennheiser is construction. The pioneers broke where the yoke holds the individual cans the head strap. The $50 pair the same company sells is nice, and great for a work headset, but this is great for watching your movies at home. After listening to these, the only reason you will not have a pair for work and home *might* be the price - love them.

So, I decided to keep it as is! It works pretty much as advertised. This is simply not true, and I don't know why he told me this. This is not a negative about the 180's since maybe nobody is looking for this feature except me, but it is a severe mis-statement of fact by a Sennheiser representative. Also, the cans sounded too mellow at first, but they sound much more neutral now. It is still rather on the "warm" side, but I would say only to a pleasant degree to my ears.

The headphones presented a very wide soundstage with ample presence but not too much "air". As I stated above these are very warm sounding headphones.

Small delay may be a problem when using as hearing aid for TV I have used the Sennheiser model 130's for years and have been perfectly happy with them. I found them very comfortable and could wear them continuously without any discomfort.

I don't know why this Sennheiser rep, whose name I won't reveal but who sounded like he was in the know, or should have been, couldn't simply be honest with me. While he did achieve his objective of getting me to try the 180's, he is also now responsible for a returned set of 180's and this negative review.
