A Cry in The Dark: The amazing true tale of Lindy Chamberlain, an Australian female implicated of killing her infant, in spite of her claims that the youngster was taken by a dingo (a wild Australian dog). Author-director Schepisi informs his tale with nearly documentary like actuality, eloquently assaulting the format of trial by story that made Chamberlain and her spouse the most maligned couple in Australia. Streep and Neill are heartbreakingly excellent. Cast includes Meryl Streep, Sam Neill, Bruce Myles, Charles Tingwell, Notch Tate, and Lewis Fitzgerald. (121 minutes, 1988)

Hook, Line & Sinker: Conceivably ludicrous premise about allegedly dying man who runs up one hundred thousand in credit card debt. Even Lewis fans can be bored. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Peter Lawford, Anne Francis, Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez, Jimmy Miller, and Kathleen Freeman. (91 minutes, 1951)

Gus: The football kicking mule leads a last-place team to success; crooks try to abduct Gus with typical outcomes like a weak chase scene in this anticipation thriller. Cast includes Edward Asner, Don Tangles, Gary Dirties, Tim Conway, Freedom Williams, Dick Minivan Patten, and Dick Butkus. (96 minutes, 1976)

The Born Losers: What appeared at the time just some other biker film attained new interest in the '70s as the inception of Billy Jack; he helps free youthful dropout James from the grips of Slate's gang. Excellent action scenes, although Laughlin's use of brutality as an arraignment of bloodshed is already present. Mrs. Brown: Gratifying drama set in the 1860s. Monarch Victoria Bench has been in grieving for years, following the death of her cherished spouse Albert; living in Windsor Castle, away from London and city life, she only comes out of her shell when her spouse's believed Highland rider, John Brown Connolly, declines to pamper her. Cast includes Judi Bench, Billy Connolly, Geoffrey Palmer, Antony Sher, Gerald Butler, Richard Pasco, and David Westhead. (103 minutes, 1997)

Star Trek: Nemesis: The Romulans have a new leader in power. Since they are the closest starship in the area, the Enterprise is sent to the neutral zone to speak with Preator, the new Romulan leader. He has told the Federation he wants a peace treaty. When the Enterprise arrives they find themselves in the middle of a situation that could lead to the destruction of Earth.

Roll Bounce: A group of skate-admiring adolescents on Chicago's South Side have to prove themselves to the snobs on the other side of town while their local skating rink closes, all when facing the pleasures and pangs of growing up. As craze-based coming of age films go, this is a notch or two underneath Saturday Night Fever and an advancement over Roller Boogie. Cast includes Droop Wow, Chi McBride, Mike Epps, Wesley Jonathan, Kellita Smith, Meagan Excellent, and Tim Kazurinsky. (112 minutes, 2005)

The Prince and the Showgirl: Fairly good but slow moving comedy of saucy American show gal Monroe being courted by Prince Regent of Carpathia (Olivier) throughout the 1911 coronation of George V. Filmed in England, with admirable performances by Monroe and Olivier. Cast includes Laurence Olivier, Sybil Thorndike, Jeremy Spencer, and Richard Wattis. (117 minutes, 1957)

Die Hard: In position to commit the perfect crime, terrorists have commandeered a Los Angeles high rise, and are holding everyone hostage. There is $460 million in the corporate safe that the terrorists want. Everything is going according to play. Uninvited, so the terrorists don't know he is there New York cop John McClane is the lone hope to stop the terrorists.
