Tips to Get Free Music CDs Through Swapping

By Sara Gilmore

By the time you subtract all of your living expenses you may not have extra room in your budget for things like CDs. However, this can cost you a lot more in the long run if you try to illegally download music. Instead, clean out all of those discs that are lying around and trade them for items you actually want to listen to.

There are a lot of reasons why you may want to get free music cds, you may not be able to play mp3's in your car. Swapping sites give you the opportunity to explore music that you'd otherwise be unable to afford. You can trade discs with other users and even make friends.

One of the main concerns of packaging CDs is how to get your music across the country safely. You may have to replace broken items out of your own wallet or you'll receive negative feedback; at the very least you'll be out the cost of postage. Invest in padded envelopes for added protection or sandwich a disk between cardboard.

You'll want to find a reputable site to work with so you don't end up sending out your items and then not receive anything in return. One way that these sites run is on a credit system; you'll be able to choose a CD for free whenever you send one out. You may be able to find a site that trades directly with other users but then your options will be a lot more limited.

You can trade music even if you aren't a pro computer user. This allows you to get a new hobby even if you are short on time. You don't have to worry about most of the computer stuff instead you just pick the discs you want in exchange for the CDs you already have. One way these services work is where you wish for an item and wait until it becomes your turn which is the way that most credit sites run. You might find a way to trade CDs where the computer will initiate a trade between users that have items that you both want.
